It’s that time of year again! According to the weather forecast, snow is on its way with the wetness and cold that come with it. The weather has a direct impact on the school day of your child (particularly if they’re in our elementary school with recess), so breaking out the cold weather gear is soon to be a necessity.
To play in the snow, we ask the children to put on boots, snow pants, a jacket, gloves, and sometimes a hat/hood. Students dressed inadequately are to play on the shoveled sidewalks and game areas only. With sledding such a popular recess pastime, it is imperative that children have the right gear.
Once the gear gets here it can be a challenge to keep track of. We’ll do our best to keep a neat and tidy garment room, but having your child’s gear labeled is a huge help. Remember to label EVERYTHING if possible, or to mark it somehow with a zip tie, etc. Watch the lost and found for missing gear as we definitely make use of it for lost/unlabeled items.
